UFC middleweight contender Chris Weidman had minor surgery on Friday, the same day it was confirmed that he would face Tim Boetsch in December. The two will square off on the UFC 155 card from Las Vegas.
Weidman (9-0) posted on Twitter that the chips floating around in his elbow “looks like some big teeth.” He said they have been causing him problems for two years.
“Just got done gettin my elbow scoped out of some bone chips,” Weidman wrote. “Feeling great. Boetsch Dec. 29th. Can’t wait.”
It is likely that the winner of Weidman-Boetsch positions themselves for either a shot at UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva or a potential No. 1 contender match with the winner of Brian Stann-Michael Bisping.
