Former UFC welterweight contender Josh Koscheck was set to compete this weekend. However, “Kos” was forced to pull out of a planned co-main event encounter with Jake Ellenberger due to an injury.
In between making remarks about American Kickboxing Academy trainer and coach Javier Mendez, Koscheck sent out a message on Twitter discussing his return. A back injury knocked Koscheck out of the Ellenberger contest.
“I’ll be ready to fight by December 29 in Vegas!!” Koscheck posted recently. “My rehab is going great.”
December 29 is the scheduled date for UFC 155, which is expected to feature AKA fighter Cain Velasquez facing UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos in the main event. The card also includes Chael Sonnen vs. Forrest Griffin, as the UFC tends to pack the New Year’s Eve event with several exciting matchups.
