Michael Bisping Looking At Brian Stann’s One Punch Knockout

Michael Bisping (22-4) believes that he has Brian Stann (12-4) beat wherever their upcoming fight takes them, but knows he must lookout for that knockout punch.

“Everyone knows he’s a powerful striker and that’s what I’ve got to look out for,” said Bisping on MMA Inside. “I think, technically, I’ve got him beat. I’m better on the feet. I’m better on the ground. But, obviously, that one punch knockout power is the main thing I’ve got to look out for. I’m training with tough guys. I’m getting beat up on a daily basis and I’m preparing. I’m doing everything I can. I’ll be ready.”

Bisping was on a four fight win streak, before losing in a title eliminator match in January of this year. Stann is 6-3 for the UFC since joining the company in 2009. Both men’s last defeat came at the hands of Chael Sonnen (27-12-1).

Earlier this year Bisping suffered a minor knee injury and was forced out of UFC 149.

“The knee is fine,” said Bisping. “It’s still a little sore here and there, but generally it’s not giving me any problems. The knee injury wasn’t serious. It needed operating on, but it wasn’t a huge operation. Mobility is fine and my footwork is as good as ever. It hasn’t had a negative impact on my training.”

Bisping vs. Stann takes place at UFC 152 on September 22.
