Georges St-Pierre Confirms He Is “Medically Cleared” To Compete Again

UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre received some good news recently, as he has been medically cleared to resume training. St-Pierre, who had surgery to repair a damaged knee, is expected to face interim UFC welterweight champion Carlos Condit in November at UFC 154.

“(Monday) was the final chapter of my Road to Recovery – I’m now medically cleared to compete in professional mixed martial arts!” St-Pierre posted on Facebook. “Big thanks to all my fans for the amazing support during those 9 long months of rehab – couldn’t have done it without you.”

GSP, who has not competed since a victory over Jake Shields in early 2011, is 22-2. He has successfully defended the UFC 170-pound six times.

“I’ve been lucky to work with such professional and kind people and I’ve learned a lot from them,” St-Pierre posted. “It’s been an incredible experience. Rendez-vous le 17 novembre, UFC 154, Montreal!!!”
