After Michael Kuiper (12-1) suffered the first loss of his career in his UFC debut, he rebounded with a victory at UFC 150.
Kuiper defeated Jared Hamman (13-5) in round two via TKO. Hamman appeared unsteady in the closing moments of round one, but the referee allowed the fight to continue and Kuiper agreed with the decision.
“I don’t think the referee had to jump in because he was still fighting and defending himself,” said Kuiper. “I was happy I could finish it in the second round. If I timed it a little better and was more accurate with my punches, I think I would’ve finished in the first round.”
Hamman is 2-4 since he joined the UFC and is now on a two fight losing streak. Kuiper lost in his UFC debut, but wasn’t worried about his status with the company heading into the fight against Hamman.
“There was no pressure for maybe getting released from the UFC,” said Kuiper. “It was normal pressure before any fight.”
