Erik Perez (12-4) created his own history at UFC 150 when earned the fastest knockout in UFC and WEC bantamweight history, at 17 seconds, against Ken Stone (11-4).
Perez said it was about the location of the punch that matters more than the power behind it.
“I take my power punches like every guy,” said Perez. “You need to punch in the exact part [of the face]. I don’t have too much power.”
The win gives Perez his seventh in a row and makes him 2-0 for the UFC. The loss for Stone ends his two fight win streak.
An excited Perez says he doesn’t know who he’s fighting next, but he’s ready.
“Whatever the UFC tells me, I go,” said Perez. “I’m ready for everything.”
