Alistair Overeem’s recent remarks about getting his fight license early from the Nevada Athletic Commission appears to be nothing but a ruse by the fighter. After NAC Executive Director Keith Kizer said there was no way Overeem would be granted an early hearing, UFC president Dana White confirmed what Kizer said.
“No way in hell,” White told FightLine during the post-fight press conference Saturday night for UFC 150: Henderson vs. Edgar II. “No way in hell that’s going to happen. The commission would never do that.”
White was asked if that meant Junior dos Santos would defend his UFC heavyweight title against Cain Velasquez next. That bout is scheduled for December 29.
“That’s the next fight,” White said. “It’s Junior and Cain.”
