Henderson Feels Age Is Not A Factor In His Upcoming Fight Against Jones

At 16 years his elder, Dan Henderson (29-8) is prepared to show Jon Jones (16-1) that his youth won’t have an impact in their light heavyweight championship fight.

“I’m not your average 40-year-old,” said Henderson “I’m looking forward to go out there and prove a lot of people wrong. I know what I’m capable of doing and I just got to make sure I do it that night.”

At 41-years-old Henderson believes he can find a flaw in the 25-years-old Jones.

“I’ve seen him fight. Everyone’s got holes in their game and I think there’s a number of things I can exploit,” said Henderson. “He just hasn’t fought anyone like me. I’m going to make sure I put him on his back and we haven’t seen him there, so we’ll see how that goes.”

Jones is the youngest fighter to win a UFC Championship at 23 and his currently the youngest champion on the roster at 25.

Henderson is currently on a four fight win streak and Jones has successfully defended his championship three times since he won it at UFC 128.

At UFC 75 Henderson unsuccessfully fought for the light heavyweight championship, when it was merged with his Pride Middleweight Championship.

Jones vs. Henderson is scheduled for UFC 151 on September 1.
