When Joe Lauzon earns a win, he does so by either submission or knockout. Saturday night, against Jamie Varner at UFC on Fox: Shogun vs. Vera, Lauzon continued that trend.
After battling 10-plus minutes with Varner, Lauzon locked in a smooth triangle choke and scored his 22 stoppage victory in 22 career wins. Eighteen of them have come via submission and four by knockout.
Lauzon avoided losing back-to-back fights for the first time in his career, as Anthony Pettis knocked him out earlier this year. “J-Lau” is now 22-7 in his career and owns nine UFC victories.
Varner (20-7-1) had his three-fight win streak snapped.
