According to a report by The Hanford Sentinel, former UFC featherweight title contender Chad Mendes is being sought by police in regards to a bar fight Saturday morning.
In the report, it states that around 1:18 a.m., a deputy drove past the Lacey Inn Bar and witnessed two people fighting outside. The official stopped, and more people started coming out of the bar. At that time, Mendes was recognized.
Authorities said Mendes appeared intoxicated and began cursing at the officers. He went back into the bar, according to Assistant Sheriff Dave Putnam, and struck a man who, “never even saw him coming.”
Mendes is still being sought for questioning, and the sheriff’s office has said they will ask the district attorney’s office to step in if they cannot find him.
