Antonio Silva will seek his first UFC victory this coming October when he takes on Travis Browne at UFC on FX 5. The card, which will be held in Minneapolis, and main event were announced earlier on Friday.
Silva was defeated by former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez earlier this year, falling to 16-4 in his career. His last three losses have come at the hands of Velasquez, Daniel Cormier and Fabricio Werdum.
Browne is undefeated, having gone 13-0-1 in his MMA career. His draw came in a fight with Cheick Kongo.
“No easy fights in the UFC,” said Silva, in an interview with Tatame.com. “He’s a striker. His stand-up is pretty good and he’s also a purple belt in jiu-jitsu with good takedown defenses. He’s a tough guy; will be a good fight.”
The only other bout announced for the card features featherweights Bart Palaszewski and Diego Nunes.
