UFC president Dana White revealed some plans for the UFC’s middleweight division during a pre-fight press conference for UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao on Thursday. He continued to give away some of those plans during an interview with MMAFighting.com.
“We’re working on some crazy shit right now – you know how I get,” White said. “I am very excited about the 185-pound division. I will let the cat out of the bag on Saturday about what we are going to do.”
That screams tournament by reading into the words, especially considering White mentioned everyone staying healthy and this Saturday, which has a middleweight bout between Hector Lombard and Tim Boetsch in the co-main event.
Brian Stann and Michael Bisping are expected to face off in another middleweight clash later this year, while Alan Belcher, Vitor Belfort and Chris Weidman are also among the contenders.
