Barring any issues, UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre will return to action this coming November. UFC president Dana White confirmed he has heard no issues out of the GSP camp since he went back to training.
“He’s training, and as far as I know, everything is good,” said White, during the pre-fight press conference for UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao Thursday. “I haven’t heard anything negative out of that camp at all. It’s all positive.”
St-Pierre (22-2) is on track to meet interim UFC welterweight champion Carlos Condit (28-5) at UFC 154. The card takes place November 17 from Montreal.
The UFC is already making back-up plans just in case, targeting contenders Martin Kampmann and Johny Hendricks for the co-main event.
St-Pierre has been out of action since defeating Jake Shields early in 2011. He had his ACL repaired in December.
