Rumors of the UFC heading to Hawaii have cooled in the recent months. Now, you can put the possible card completely on ice.
UFC president Dana White informed the media at the post-fight press conference for UFC on FUEL TV: Munoz vs. Weidman that the company would not be going to Hawaii in the near future when the question was presented to him.
“I’d love to go to Hawaii. I’d love to go there and do an event,” White said. “It kind of scares me to be outside. It rains every 15 minutes out there. It’s not in our plans right now.”
The island has been host to several MMA shows, and the UFC has a native – BJ Penn – on the roster. Those factors, however, don’t seem to be enough to bring the Octagon to Hawaii.
