Carlos Condit Remains In Dark As Far As His Next Fight Goes

Carlos Condit continues to remain active at his gym, though he isn’t ready to amp up his training for a fight just yet. The current interim UFC welterweight champion has yet to hear anything official from the UFC in regards to if he will face Georges St-Pierre later this year to unify the belts.

“The bottom line is that the UFC has not offered me another fight. I haven’t been contacted, nor has my management been contacted about fighting anybody else other than Georges St-Pierre,” said Condit, during a recent interview with Bleacher Report. “So Georges is the guy I want. And if the UFC wants that fight, I’m content to wait for him to be ready.”

It appears that Condit-GSP is still on target for November, as St-Pierre continues to return from a torn ACL. If he is unable to fight, “The Natural Born Killer” said he would rather face Martin Kampmann than Johny Hendricks, as he views Kampmann as “a fight that I’d be more motivated for.”

Condit and Kampmann fought to a decision that went the way of Condit back in 2009. If Condit-GSP happens at UFC 154, Kampmann and Hendricks are expected to meet in a No. 1 contender match the same night.
