Chris Weidman is undefeated in his MMA career, including four victories in the UFC. Weidman will be in search of his fifth Octagon triumph Wednesday night when he meets Mark Munoz in the main event of UFC on FUEL TV: Munoz vs. Weidman.
After stepping in to face former title-contender Demian Maia earlier this year, Weidman feels more confident and better prepared after a complete training camp for Munoz.
“I’m fighting to make a statement in this fight,” said Weidman, while appearing on The MMA Hour recently. “It would be my fifth win in the UFC in a row. I’ve fought a lot of tough guys, veterans in this sport; I really didn’t have any easy fights.”
While Munoz has said he will use a win over Weidman to push for a shot at UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, is appears as if “The All-American” willl do the same, saying, “I would love a chance against Anderson Silva; I think I really match up good against him, and I mean, I would love a shot, so we’ll see.”
Weidman knows Munoz will be a great challenge, but feels like he can show he is, “ahead of the pack,” by defeating Munoz on Wednesday night.
