Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will face another rising star in what is likely to be his final UFC fight, as Jackson has signed to meet Glover Teixeira at UFC 153.
UFC officials confirmed the bout though SporTV in Brazil. The card goes down October 13 from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Jackson has pushed to finish out his UFC contract and move on from the promotion. He was set to meet Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, but had to pull out to undergo double knee surgery. In his last fight, he was defeated by Ryan Bader.
Teixeira was rumored as a potential opponent for Rua, but “Shogun” declined to take the fight. He recently made his UFC debut by defeating Kyle Kingsbury.
The Jackson-Teixeira fight is the first one confirmed for the Brazil card later this fall.
