Cung Le has taken several months and years off during his fighting career to film roles in movies. However, Le credits his decision to follow a healthy lifestyle as the main reason he’s been able to continue fighting as he reaches 40 years of age.
“For me, I just do it the healthy way,” said Le, during a recent interview with MMAWeekly Radio. “I eat all organic, all my supplements are food based, and I’d rather do it that way for me. I can’t speak for anyone else. I’m clean and I’ll test anytime.”
Le has volunteered to be tested by VADA (Volunteer Anti-Doping Agency), a more strict testing, to help clean up the sport. BJ Penn recently announced that VADA has agreed to sponsor his fight with Rory MacDonald, and asked MacDonald to get tested with him by the company.
“I’ve got nothing to hide,” Le said. “I don’t want to speak for anyone else, but I feel that it’s good for the sport if there’s random drug testing.”
Le was set to face Rich Franklin at UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen 2, but will meet a returning Patrick Cote instead after Franklin was moved to a bout with Wanderlei Silva. Le lost his UFC debut to Silva last year.
