UFC On FX 4: Dustin Pague Vs. Ken Stone

Round 1: They touch gloves to kick off the first fight of the night. Both men land solid right hands from the pocket. Pague with a nice leg kick; he ducks a spinning back fist and comes back with a solid right hook counter. Stone gets off with an inside leg kick. Pague gets in a knee after they briefly clinch. Stone counters well as Pague presses the action. Pague buckles Stone with a right hand, but Stone recovers quickly. Stone takes an inside leg kick to the pills and takes a little time recovering before getting back to it. Both men getting off with punches from the pocket, with Pague landing a few more blows of consequence. They trade hard kicks. Pague briefly wobbles Stone with a left hand, but Stone hangs tough and gets right back after Pague.

Round 2: Pague opens up aggressive early on, but Stone adjusts and counters well. Stone goes for the takedown against the cage; Pague threatens to counter, but Stone defends. They battle for position with Pague’s back to the wall. Pague defending well as Stone keeps him pressed to the wall; the ref separates them after some inactivity. This time it’s Pague that takes one low. They break briefly and reset in the center. Pague gets in with a stiff right hand, but Stone is countering very well, holding his ground in the pocket and doing damage with punches. It’s a close fight still, both men staying technical and aggressive in their own ways. The Southpaw Stone backs Pague off with a right hook. Stone is finding repeated success with his right jab and hook. Stone turning it on as the round closes, timing Pague well and countering him swiftly.

Round 3: Pague gets off first with an outside leg kick. Another leg kick goes inside for Pague. Pague looks to be slowing down a little, with Stone just beating him to the punch. Stone closes the distance and goes for the takedown. Pague defends against the cage and works for double underhooks himself. Pague is able to get Stone down from the body lock, but Stone counters and threatens to take Pague’s back; Pague defends, but Stone ends up on top in guard. Stone works Pague to the fence and works some ground and pound. Pague holding onto closed guard. Pague deftly rises to his feet, but there’s less than twenty on the clock. Pague goes for a throw, but Stone defends.
