According to a report filed by MMA-Japan.com, the long-struggling DREAM promotion has closed up shop for good.
DREAM has been close to dissolution for some time now, with multiple reports trickling in over the past year or so of fighters being snubbed their pay and denied contact with the promotion. Several alliances with other promotions, like ONE FC and ProElite, have essentially fallen through.
The promotion had entered into a two-fight deal with the Saitama Super Arena, where they host their annual New Year’s Eve blowout (which has pretty much been the only thing they’ve really offered in recent history). But, when DREAM was unable to put together a planned event for July, Saitama denied them their New Year’s Eve slot, essentially dealing the promotion’s death blow.
The staff of Real Entertainment, the company behind DREAM, have essentially all moved on, leaving the doors shut and the fighters still on the DREAM roster with no one to contact.
