Shane Carwin Eyeing Fall Return, Warns Potential Opponents

Top UFC heavyweight Shane Carwin has been out of action for almost a year at this point, having undergone back surgery last October. Though 37-years-old, Carwin feels that the surgery and ensuing time off have made him a better fighter.

He also feels healthier and more dangerous than he has in years and in a recent post on his personal blog Carwin announced his intention to return to the cage this fall — and he warned the UFC to make the necessary preparations.

“I informed UFC Matchmaker (Joe Silva) that I would like to fight in Early Fall 2012,” Carwin announced. “I would like to be able to fight every three or four months. Barring injury I intend to leave the UFC octagon and head back to the Grudge Training Center to continue the climb. I have spent my entire career dealing with injuries sustained through Football. I am 100% and I feel like a younger version of my former self. The UFC should look into adding some padding in the gloves because I plan on crushing my opponents.”

Carwin is currently riding a two-fight losing streak, having suffered back-to-back losses to Brock Lesnar and Junior dos Santos.

What do you think folks? Who should The Engineer face when he next graces the Octagon?
