We’re back bringing you yet another recap of The Ultimate Fighter: Live, with tonight’s episode featuring two more quarter-final matches as well as Dana White’s announcement of Urijah Faber’s UFC 148 replacement opponent.
Tonight’s quarter-finals will see Team Faber’s Al Iaquinta and Andy Ogle square off, as well as Team Faber’s Chris Saunders and Team Cruz’s Vinc Pichel.
It’s not long before we’re off to our first quarter-final match up.
Vinc Pichel vs. Chris Saunders
Round 1: Pichel starts out pressuring, backing Saunders up with a pair of inside leg kicks. Pichel goes for the takedown, grating Saunders against the cage. Saunders turns him and takes him down, working his way into guard. Pichel works to his feet, but Saunders stays on him with the body lock. Saunders breaks away. Pichel coming forward with straight punches; Saunders avoiding most of them, but he eats a few before getting pressed into the cage. Pichel drops for the double and gets it, but Saunders reverses quickly. Both men get in some knees from the clinch. They separate and exchange, both men getting in their shots. Thirty seconds left. Saunders works the single, but can’t get it before the bell. Pichel bleeding from the nose.
FightLine scores the round 10-9 for Saunders
Round 2: They touch gloves to start off the second, Pichel taking the center again. A leg kick lands for Saunders. Pichel goes for the takedown behind a nice right hand. Saunders defends well and they end up fighting for position against the fence. Pichel gets the takedown, but again Saunders is immediately to his feet. Saunders gets the body lock and tries for the suplex, but Pichel lands on his hands and knees and pops up. Saunders gives up on the takedown and they go back to striking, where the exchanges remain fairly even. Pichel puts together a mean volley of strikes that have Saunders covering before dropping for the takedown. Pichel gets it after a bit of a fight. Saunders gets up but gets put right back down. He reverses and takes Pichel’s back as Pichel attempts to stand up. Pichel shakes him off, but Saunders turns the table again and goes for the takedown. Pichel ends the round getting in some solid strikes on Saunders against the fence.

Vinc Pichel defeated Chris Saunders via majority decision (20-18, 20-18, 19-19)
After some training footage of Ogle and Iaquinta, we’re on to the next quarter-final fight.
Andy Ogle vs. Al Iaquinta
Round 1: Both men throwing, trying to find their range. Iaquinta stalking Ogle, Ogle moving away well and countering. They settle into a feinting match for a bit; Iaquinta breaks it with a nice combo. It’s an evenly paced fight so far, with Iaquinta leading by a small margin. Ogle starting to put it together though, landing a nice combination of hands. Iaquinta drops Ogle with a well-placed short right. Ogle recovers well and drives for the takedown. Iaquinta defends and Ogle gets to his feet. Once up though, Iaquinta nails Ogle with a right elbow that drops him; he finishes things off with a right hammerfist.
