Head Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Coach at Chute Boxe and current The Ultimate Fighter: Live contestant, Cristiano Marcello will fight on June 1 at the finale of TUF: Live.
The lightweight MMA veteran released this statement via Twitter, announcing the fight, and translated by yours truly:
“Nine days left in the house! I don’t see any smiles! Three months without seeing my family and friends is an eternity, but I have a fight! The finale, 1 June.”
Although his opponent has not been announced, one should expect to see Marcello attempt to win the fight with his technical jiu jitsu, as well as showcase Chute Boxe’s trademark wild and aggressive brand of Muay Thai.
After gaining entry into the TUF household with a rear-naked choke victory over Jared Carlsten, coach Urijah Faber made Marcello his second pick. However, the Brazilian would eventually fall short in his fight to enter the semi-final round, suffering a knockout at the hands of kickboxer and Strikeforce veteran, Justin Lawrence.
So far the four announced bouts for the finale of The Ultimate Fighter: Live are: Jonathan Brookins vs. Charles Oliveira, John Albert vs. Erick Perez, Max Holloway vs. Matt Schilling; and for the main event, Jake Ellenberger vs. Martin Kampmann.
