Josh Koscheck announced on his Twitter account that the UFC has offered him a match with former champion BJ Penn. Koscheck confirmed that he accepted the bout, but the ball appears to be in the court of “The Prodigy” now.
Penn announced his retirement last year following a defeat against Nick Diaz. However, reports of a return have started to pick up as of late, with UFC president Dana White saying he believes it is a matter of when – and not if – Penn fights again.
“UFC just offered me to fight BJ Penn….I said YES!!!!” Koscheck posted. “Just waiting on him!!!!!! Let’s scrap bra?”
Penn did say in a recent interview that he turned down a match with Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez. It remains to be seen if he will take Koscheck up on the challenge.
