Back in 2005, Stephan Bonnar and Forrest Griffin stepped inside the Octagon and made history. Now, seven years later, Bonnar is hoping to re-create that memorable moment.
“Everyone out there, please harass Dana White on Twitter to let me and Forrest coach the next season (of The Ultimate Fighter),” said Bonnar, during a recent appearance on MMAjunkie.com Radio. “If he does that, I can guarantee a barn-burning slugfest.”
Griffin defeated Bonnar in the finals of the first Ultimate Fighter. White, and many others, have considered that bout a turning point in the direction of the UFC. The two fought again a year later, with Griffin scoring another victory.
Currently, Urijah Faber and UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz are coaches on the first live season of The Ultimate Fighter. Nothing has been made known as far as coaches for the next season for the FX-televised show.
