According to MMAJunkie, Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar will be meeting for their rematch this summer at UFC 150.
The two fighters contested what was Edgar’s lightweight title at UFC 144 this past February in Japan, with Henderson taking the belt with a controversial unanimous decision. Edgar campaigned doggedly for a rematch and was eventually granted the fight.
After losing the WEC lightweight title to Anthony Pettis in 2010, Henderson (16-2) upped his game in a big way when he entered the UFC’s 155lbs ranks. The 28-year-old went on a three-fight run that featured victories over Mark Bocek, Jim Miller and Clay Guida to get his shot at the belt.
If there’s a rematch king in MMA, Edgar (14-2-1) must be in the running for the thrown. This bout with Henderson will be The Answer’s third straight rematch, having taken on B.J. Penn and Gray Maynard twice each during his run as UFC lightweight champ.
UFC 150 is rumored to be taking place on August 11 in Denver, Colorado.
