Based on a recent interview with Spike TV’s MMA Uncensored Live, it would seem Alistair Overeem is very confident he will receive his fight license and face Junior dos Santos for the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 146 next month. Overeem was a guest on the show Thursday night, where he touted his superiority over the champion.
“I am bigger, I am stronger, I am better in the stand up and I’m better on the ground,” Overeem said (thanks to CagedInsider.com for transcribing). “Nothing scares me about Junior dos Santos. Everything he’s doing, I’ve seen it before. I’m not worried about it, I’ve experienced it all.”
Overeem did not discuss the failed pre-fight drug test that could keep him from receiving his fight license for the fight. “The Reem” is set to go in front of the Nevada State Athletic Commission on April 24 to obtain his license.
