UFC lightweight contender Nate Diaz has been training and working with Cesar Gracie for a number of years. Now, he can call himself a black belt in Gracie jiu-jitsu, as the trainer awarded him the honor earlier this week.
Diaz is 15-7 in his MMA career, with 10 of those 15 victories coming by way of submission. His recent win over Donald Cerrone vaulted him up the lightweight pecking order, setting up a match with Jim Miller for later this year.
Diaz-Miller will headline UFC on FOX 3 from East Rutherford, New Jersey on May 5, with the winner likely earning themselves a future shot at the UFC lightweight title, which is currently held by Benson Henderson.
