Bellator welterweight champion Ben Askren used his wrestling to control Douglas Lima and defend his title once again in the main event of Bellator 64. The card was held Friday night from Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Askren is now 10-0, including two defenses of his title. He has defeated Lima, Jay Hieron, Nick Thompson, Lyman Good, Dan Hornbuckle and Ryan Thomas by decision since earning a submission victory over Thomas back in early 2010. Lima had his nine-fight win streak snapped with the loss.
In other main card bouts, Marlon Sandro advanced in to the finals of the season six featherweight tournament with a decision victory over Alexandre Bezerra. Bantamweights Travis Marx and Hiroshi Nakamura moved on to the semifinals of their tournament with decision victories, as well.
