Keith Kizer, Executive Director of the Nevada State Athletic Commission, confirmed with MMAJunkie.com that Alistair Overeem’s T/E ratio was 14-to-1. The legal limit is 6-to-1.
Kizer added that Overeem has yet to ask for a B-sample to be tested. If that clears the drug tests, Overeem could be given his fight license by NSAC, keeping the UFC heavyweight title bout with Junior dos Santos on schedule.
UFC 146 is scheduled for May 26, and NSAC has just one meeting planned before that takes place. Overeem could go before them and explain why his levels of testosterone-to-epitestosterone were so high, or provide the second sample before that time period.
“If (Overeem’s camp is) going to test it, they should tell us pretty soon,” Kizer said. “There is a concern about degradation of the sample.”
