UFC president Dana White continues to push to make his fight promotion a global symbol, telling MMAjunkie.com recently that the UFC is looking to head to China next. China has never hosted an event, with the likely spot for the UFC being The Venetian Macao-Report-Hotel.
“It will happent his year,” White said. “We’re this close. We are going to do a fight in Chine.”
The Venetian features the planet’s largest casino and is a top spot for tourism. Macau, where the casino is located, generates more revenue from the legal gambling industry than Las Vegas every year. Inside The Venetian is a 15,000-seat arena that has hosted boxing events in years past.
No date, fights or confirmation has been announced for the first-ever UFC China card.
