WMMA Primer: 14-Year-Old Karo Parisyan Beats Up A Grown Man In Mexico

I’m just gonna level with you guys: it’s a slow news day. But, that’s alright, because on a day when the match ups and positive drug test results come pouring in, a little gem like this one might go overlooked.

WMMA: McCorkle vs. Heden, Fighting for a Better World goes down this Saturday at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas. In this recently released promo video, MMA veteran Karo Parisyan details his first mixed martial arts bout: a bareknuckle contest that took place in Tijuana, Mexico when he was fourteen years old. WMMA was good enough to unearth footage of that bout to air along with The Heat’s recounting of the tale.

Parisyan’s interview begins at about the one minute mark.

The fight card will be shown on pay-per-view, DISH, AvailTVN and via the Armed Forces Network. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Wounded Warriors foundation. The broadcast will be accompanied by a thirty minute countdown show, which will lead into the main broadcast and begins at 8:30pm ET.
