Brian Rogers Earns Flying Knee KO To Advance In Bellator Tourney

Bellator’s sixth season middleweight tournament kicked off last night at Bellator 61, which went down at the Horseshoe Riverdome in Bossier City, Louisiana, and produced four semi-finalists.

Brian Rogers, Bruno Santos, Maiquel Falcao and Vyacheslav Vasilevsky all advanced to the next round of the tournament, which will take place next month at Bellator 66. Bellator 66 is expected to be headlined by a lightweight rematch between top 155ers Shinya Aoki and Eddie Alvarez.

Perhaps most impressive in victory was Rogers, who floored opponent Vitor Vianna with a flying knee thrown behind a hard right hand in the very first round.

For his victory, Brian Rogers has been pitted against fellow semi-finalist Bruno Santos, with the other side of the bracket seeing Maiquel Falcao take on Vyacheslav Vasilevsky. The winners of those bouts will tangle for a chance at Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard.

Bellator 66 is scheduled to take place on April 20 at the I-X Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
