Miesha Tate Looking For Rematch With Ronda Rousey

Miesha Tate feels like, outside of being locked in an armbar that led to her submission, she was winning the fight with Ronda Rousey. The former Olympian, however, trapped Tate in a nasty armbar, forcing her to tap and claiming the Strikeforce 135-pound championship earlier this month.

Tate continues to say her arm is not broken, but could require surgery to repair ligament damage suffered in the fight. “Takedown,” however, still wants to face Rousey inside the cage for the belt down the road.

“I, personally, would love the opportunity to have a rematch,” said Tate, in an interview with MMAFighting.com recently. “I think for the most part I was probably winning.”

Tate went on to say Rousey still has, “one thing that she’s great at (the armbar).” Rousey claimed bronze at the 2008 Olympic Games in judo, winning all five of her MMA fights by armbar.

“I think at a competitive high level,” Tate said, “one day one person could beat the one person, and the other day, the other person would beat the other person.”
