Anthony Johnson was cut from his longtime home at the UFC this past January and has now signed with Titan Fighting Championships.
Rumble revealed during an appearance on MMAFighting’s The MMA Hour that he’d signed with the promotion and is currently awaiting an opponent for his first Titan FC appearance.
The 28-year-old fighter spent most of his UFC career competing as a welterweight, but, after missing weight twice for appearances in that division, Johnson moved up a weight class. Rumble was pitted against seasoned veteran Vitor Belfort for his first bout at middleweight, with their matchup taking place at UFC 142 this past January at the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro.
Johnson showed up to their fight eleven pounds over the middleweight limit and was beaten soundly by Belfort within one round, securing his release from the UFC.
10-4 as a pro, Johnson doesn’t yet have a concrete idea when he’ll make his debut with Titan FC.
