Former UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk is itching to return to the Octagon. However, Sherk isn’t just planning on being a person someone else gets their push from when he does return.
“I will be coming back before the year’s end,” wrote Sherk, on his Twitter account recently. “But I need a good fight, not some chump who needs some fame!”
Sherk, now 38 years old, has been out of action for over a year now due to injuries. He last competed against Evan Dunham at UFC 119, a bout he earned a victory in to improve to 36-4 overall.
Sherk won the UFC title in a match with Kenny Florian to crown a champion after the belt was made vacant. Since that time, he has lost to both BJ Penn and Frankie Edgar.
