Standout female mixed martial artists Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey met in the main event of Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey last Saturday to contest Tate’s bantamweight championship belt.
There was, and still is, no love lost between Tate and Rousey, who went back and forth for months prior to their fight and developed a heated grudge along the way. The venom spilled into their fight, as both women went at each other hard. In the end, though Tate had her moments, Rousey did what she’s done to every other woman to stand across from her in the cage: submit her with an armbar in the first round.
Tate showed grit in initially refusing to tap, but her pride resulted in her arm gruesomely bending ninety degrees in the wrong direction. Just like that, Rousey goes home with the belt and Tate goes home in a sling; check out the Gracie Breakdown video below to have Rener and Ryron Gracie walk you through how it happened.
