MMAJunkie is reporting that five fighters on the Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey fight card were tested for performance enhancing drugs as well as for recreational drugs.
Four of their tests have come back clean, while the results of another are pending.
Main event fighters Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate were both tested per Ohio Athletic Commission policy, while welterweights Paul Daley and Kazuo Misaki were randomly screened.
The fifth fighter tested was Bristol Marunde, whom you can add to the growing list of MMA fighters battling testosterone deficiencies. Marunde received a therapeutic use exemption for testosterone replacement therapy and was tested to ensure that his hormone levels were within allowable limits by competition time. As stated, the results of Marunde’s test are pending.
Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey went down from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio and saw brash Judo Olympian Ronda Rousey capture the title and her fifth-straight first round armbar finish (in professional competition) in putting away Miesha Tate.
