As bad as it looked, former Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate revealed she did not suffer any broken bones in her loss to Ronda Rousey for the belt this past weekend. Rousey earned a first round submission victory after locking in a deep armbar in the main event of Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey.
“I had X-Rays last night,” said Tate, in a text message to MMAFighting.com. “No bones are broken, which I already knew. Other than that, I have to get an MRI to find out anything further.”
Strikeforce had reported late Saturday night that Tate had at least suffered ligament damages in the arm, which was bent very badly by Rousey. Tate survived an early armbar attempt, but was unable to fight off the second one by the former Olympian.
