Brandon Saling was just a fighter on the prelim portion of Saturday’s Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey card. However, it appears Saling may become more of a known person following his bout against Roger Bowling. Saling lost to Bowling via second round TKO.
Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker announced during the post-fight press conference that the Ohio Athletic Commission was launching a full investigation into tattoos on Saling linked to Neo-Nazi culture and reports of a criminal record.
“We had no knowledge about that until someone brought it up to us this evening,” said Coker (thanks to MMAjunkie.com for transcribing). “It came to our attention during the course of the fights. They’re (OAC) going to launch a full investigation on Monday. So that’s where that’s at.”
Coker added that both the UFC and Strikeforce were against body art that is offensive, but declined to go into any further detail on the situation. Saling was cleared by the OAC prior to the fight, and has competed in the state twice before.
