Former UFC veteran Jorge Santiago picked up his 24th career victory with a first round knockout over Leonardo Pecanha at Titan Fighting Championship 21. The event took place Friday night from Kansas City’s Memorial Hall.
Santiago was released from the UFC following back-to-back defeats against Demian Maia and Brian Stann. Prior to that, he had won two straight to secure a return to the Octagon after last fighting in the UFC in 2006.
In other bouts, Joe Wilk scored a submission victory over Andrew Carrillo and made it known that he feels ready to compete in the UFC during the post-fight interview. Wilk, known as “The Nose,” also pushed for the UFC to bring a show to Kansas City in the near future.
Joe Ellenberger, the brother of UFC fighter Jake Ellenberger, Ramiro Hernandez, Fabio Mello and Mirsad Bektic were also victorious on the night.
