Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber still have several months before they can exchange punches and kicks inside the Octagon against one another. However, beginning next Friday night, Cruz and Faber will lead fighters on the new season of The Ultimate Fighter.
The show will begin on FX with 16 live fights to determine who enters the house. Each week, the fights will be live, a drastic change in how the show was in the past on Spike.
“(Being live) is going to bring the heat up on all the guys,” said Cruz, while being interviewed during UFC on FX: Alves vs. Kampmann Friday night. “They know everything is going to be live and that will make them want to perform that much better.”
Cruz and Faber have had a long-standing war, as “The California Kid” defeated Cruz in their first meet. “The Dominator” avenged that loss in the UFC last year, setting up this third encounter between the two rivals.
“I am going to enjoy the process,” said Faber, during the same interview segment with Cruz. “I don’t have many enemies, so it is nice to have one for a change (in Cruz). I am not afraid to get into any kind of confrontation, physical or verbal.”
