Following a heated face-off at the weigh-ins, Miesha Tate and Ronda Rousey proceeded to continue their rivalry on Twitter. Tate will defend her Strikeforce 135 pound title on Saturday night against Rousey in the main event of Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey.
Both fighters were under the weight limit, making the bout official from Columbus, Ohio. The main card will be televised live on Showtime.
Tate and Rousey went face-to-face, with the former Olympian seemingly butting the head of Tate. Rousey explained what happened on her Twitter account.
“For the record, she touched my forehead first,” Rousey posted. “Gotta go eat, I’m disappearing from the tweetverse till after the fight;)”
Tate had her own thoughts on the incident via her Twitter page, posting, “Ronda things she’s tough she tries WAY 2 hard, such a phony person & she’ll probably get fined 4 trying 2 headbutt me when I got in her face.”
