The impending UFC on FUEL TV 3 fight card has received the addition of two new match ups, in the lightweight and bantamweight divisions.
At 155lbs., Kamal Shalorus (7-2-2) and Rafael Dos Anjos (15-6) will do battle. Since making the move from the WEC to the UFC, Shalorus has lost his only two promotional appearances. The two-fight slump came about courtesy of Jim Miller and UFC newcomer Khabib Nurmagomedov, who both finished Shalorus within the distance. Dos Anjos has been a member of the UFC’s 155lbs. roster for eight pro fights, having posted a promotional record of 4-4 over that stretch. He most recently lost a split decision to fellow Brazilian Gleison Tibau.
In the bantamweight division, Azamat Gashimov (7-1) and Alex Soto (6-1-1) are set to tangle. Russian UFC debutant Azamat Gashimov has earned his 7-1 pro record almost exclusively in Russia against unheralded competition. Since signing with the UFC, Gashimov has joined forces with the renowned AMA Fight Club in New Jersey. Mexico-born American Alex Soto made his UFC debut last November, getting knocked out in one round by rising prospect Michael McDonald at UFC 139.
UFC on FUEL TV 3 is set to go down on May 15 from the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Virginia.
