Four years ago, Benson Henderson just wanted an opportunity to fight in the UFC. So, “Smooth” sent out an audition tape to be cast on season nine of The Ultimate Fighter, which featured the U.S. vs. the United Kingdom.
Henderson was not selected to compete on the show; instead, he was placed on the WEC roster. Henderson went on to claim the WEC lightweight title, and, after defeating Frankie Edgar this past weekend at UFC 144: Edgar vs. Henderson, is the new UFC 155 pound champion.
The clip shows several early-career victories for Henderson, and offers an insight into his growing mind at such a young age.
