Mark Hunt didn’t waste any time during his fight with Cheick Kongo or after it, as the “Super Samoan” claimed a TKO victory over Kongo just 2:11 into the first round at UFC 144: Edgar vs. Henderson.
Kongo landed a big left that floored Kongo early, following up with several rights that ended the bout when referee Herb Dean stepped in. During the post-fight interview, Hunt didn’t have much to say despite the impressive finish.
“I feel good,” Hunt said. “I felt like I had an advantage (thanks to being a former K-1 world champion). It feels good.”
Hunt, 37 years old, improved to 8-7 in his MMA career. He has now won three straight fights – all in the UFC – since a six-fight losing streak.
