MMAJunkie is reporting that Strikeforce light heavyweight Mike Kyle has been forced out of his planned Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey co-main event scrap against Gegard Mousasi with an undisclosed injury.
Kyle (19-8-1) and Mousasi (32-3-2) were originally scheduled to meet this past April at a Strikeforce event, but Kyle suffered a hand injury that scrapped that meeting.
It is unclear at this time whether or not Strikeforce will be able to find a replacement for Kyle, or if Mousasi will be pulled from the card altogether.
Kyle last took to the cage in September at Strikeforce World Grand Prix: Barnett vs. Kharitonov, where he earned a unanimous decision over the unheralded Marcos Rogerio de Lima.
Strikeforce: Tate vs. Rousey goes down on March 3 at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. The current lineup is as follows:
-Conor Heun vs. Ryan Couture
-Lumumba Sayers vs. Scott Smith
-Caros Fodor vs. Pat Healy
-Alexis Davis vs. Sarah Kaufman
-Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza vs. Derek Brunson
-Paul Daley vs. Kazuo Misaki
-K.J. Noons vs. Josh Thomson
-Gegard Mousasi vs. TBA
-Miesha Tate vs. Ronda Rousey (for the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight championship)
