Round 1: Thompson in a wide stance with low hands; he hits a leg kick. Thompson working his kicks from range, his karate style on full display and giving Stittgen some trouble. Thompson using his front leg well to deliver kicks to the midsection. Thompson’s movement is giving Stittgen fits. Like Lyoto Machida, he can get in and out quick, though his offense works much more off the front leg. Stittgen rushes in and Thompson gives him the matador. Thompson just kicking up a storm on Stittgen, who hasn’t been able to do much more than stand in front of Thompson looking confused. Thompson’s timing is on point. Thompson throws a quick, tricky kick behind a one-two that smacks Stittgen across the face and drops him like a felled tree. Awesome debut performance by Thompson.
