When Nate Diaz and Jim Miller were signed to compete at UFC on FOX 3, many thought the lightweight bout would serve as the main event for the evening. Now, those rumors have been proven true, as the UFC announced Diaz-Miller will be a five-round affair on May 5 from East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Diaz-Miller could be booked as a No. 1 contender bout, as both fighters are coming off key victories. Diaz (15-7) stopped Donald Cerrone back in December, while Miller (21-3) submitted Melvin Guillard in January.
The UFC also announced a heavyweight match for the main card, as Pat Barry (7-4) and Lavar Johnson (16-5) will tangle. Barry earned a much-needed victory over Christian Morecraft in his most recent fight, while Johnson earned Knockout of the Night honors for his KO performance against Joey Beltran in his UFC debut last weekend.
