Tito Ortiz Continues To Push For Retirement Bout With Forrest Griffin

Tito Ortiz is looking to finish his MMA career later this year, as the former UFC light heavyweight champion has one fight left on his contract. As far as whom that fight will be against, Ortiz has one man in mind: Forrest Griffin.

Ortiz and Griffin have split their previous two meetings, with Griffin getting the best of Ortiz in 2009. Back in 2006, Ortiz claimed a split decision victory.

Griffin was a recent guest on Inside MMA, where a segment taped from Ortiz was shown, pushing for a match between the two.

“Forrest, you know I deserve it, man. Step up. Let’s do this,” Ortiz said (thanks to for transcribing). “I lost my last one. You lost your last one. Let’s do this – unless you’re scared!”

Griffin responded by saying, “He knows better than that. You know what’s funny about me and Tito? The truth is we each consider the other an easy fight. So, I think it’s a beautiful match up because we both think of the other as an easy fight.”

It remains to be seen if the UFC agrees with Ortiz and Griffin, but considering the standing both men have in the company, a fight is likely to be signed.
